Tubes for Jack
We took Jack to get tubes in his ears this morning. It's as minor as surgery gets, but it still isn't fun to put a kid under. Hopefully, he won't get so many ear infections and sleep better at night. Sam got tubes last year and it made all the difference in the world. Here are some pictures...

Still smiling - after going forever without eating, and waking up really early.

Waiting for the nurse to get him. He was still happy and pulled her hairnet off.

Conked after waking up and not being too happy about it.

By the time we got home, the smile was back.

Update on Ridge
It looks like Ridge will be able to go home tomorrow. He's getting better as fast as he can. As much as we all want him and his parents to get out of there and be back home, it's nice knowing he's in such good hands and being cared for by the experts.
Here are a couple of pictures. He's a really cute kid...

2 Things
It's been a rough weekend for all of us in the family.
My little nephew, Ridge, has been in Childrens Hospital since Saturday morning. He has RSV and is only 5 weeks old. Right now, he's in the ICU so they can give him as much attention as he needs. It's hard to see such a cute kid hooked up to all of those wires and tubes, but he's a tough little guy.

Sam & Jack's great-grandfather, Paul Jantzen, passed away Saturday in Lubbock. He was with his sweet wife and both of his children. I can't tell you how thankful I've been to have him in my life - and more importantly, the life of my wife and kids. He was one of the many amazing people I "married into." I'm happy he knew my boys and they knew him. Sam always prayed for him at night, and now waves to him up in Heaven. It's really sweet. So sad for us, but so great for Paul.

Cabin Fever
We were iced in this weekend. I think the kids only left the house one time from Friday - Monday. We all had a great time just hanging out together and the time flew by. It's always hard getting back into the swing of things after spending so much time together. Of course, one more day and it might have turned into The Shining.

Birthday Dance Party '07
My birthday was a blast, mostly due to some great kids...and the King of Pop, himself.
